* Due to Social Distancing practices, session packages will be limited to offer maximum number of players committed to most amount of sessions. Smaller weekly packges may be available depending on open spots.

Weekend tennis training for experienced players grades 7 thru 12.

Training intensity scaled to each players skill level and commitment.
Covered:
Physical: Athletic skill development. Agility, Balance Coordination training, and fitness
Technical: Ground strokes, volley-game, serve/return, tactical shots, transition/point ending shots.
Tactical: Singles/doubles strategies, proper practice and warm up techniques, rules of tennis
Competition: Singles and doubles ladder match play.

Ideal preparation for school tennis team and tournament competition:

3 hour training every Saturday encompassing all of the skills and knowledge that a school tennis team and tournament player needs to reach the next level. 

Designed to help middle school and high school tennis players (grades 7 through 12) develop a well rounded game that they can use to improve their success in match play during team competition season.

Open to:

SCJTL Performance|Competition Training (PCT) includes:
Intensity training scaled to each players skill level and commitment.
Covered:

Location: SCJTL Training Center - Commack - 74 Hauppauge Rd. Commack.
The SCJTL Training Center in Commack is an outdoor facility.
The tennis courts are located on the grounds of the Suffolk Y JCC Community Center.
It is a private field only SCJTL has access to. No other outside activities will take place on the courts during the program.
Parents can plan to bring a chair to relax in the field around the courts while your child is playing in the program.
Port-a-potty available for program members and guests only on the premises.
No matter where you come from, it's worth the trip!

Players will need to provide:

  • Players will need to provide the following personal equipment:
    • To avoid accidental sharing, Players are required to have their full name clearly written on every item brought.
    • Age specific tennis racquet.
      • Green, Yellow: 27” (full size)
    • Clothing
      • Shirts, shorts, sneakers (no sandals or flip flops)
    • Personal safety pack:
      • Face covering
        • Face mask, gaiters.
          Player will not play with mask over their faces. Instead they may be asked to wear them around their neck and instructed to cover up when they get close (within 7 feet) of ATC/SCJTL Staff and other players.
    • Personal:
      • Water, sunscreen and anything personally required.
      • Players may bring their own sanitizer.
        Supply will be readily available and used directly on hand during check-in, check-out, and throughout the session.
    • Tennis bag, drawstring or regular backpack, with full name clearly written for easy identification.
    • As a service, supplies of masks may be available in limited quantities for purchase at a modest price, online and at the site. Payments may be made online during registration or at site for exact amount (no change will be available or transacted).

PCT features a flexible registration system from six (6) sessions to as little as one (1) session*.
